A building delay in 1979 resulted in a tent being purchased to use as the 4th Form Home Room and a space for Forms 3-5 Technical Drawing.
Former Kristin teacher Terry Findlay describes teaching in a tent in 1980: ‘Teaching in a tent with some 30 pupils can be lots of fun,’ he recalled. ‘When it’s hot you simply remove the walls. When it rains you all get wet.
